Bread machine question: Any "robo-bakers" out there?
Hello Progressive Bread machine operators.

I found a nice looking bread machine at a thrift store for $5 -- no manual, and I can't find manual for it on internet.

I plunged in and just tossed in ingedients -- and to my amazement the machine did everything itself, and the loaf was suberb, so I am just tickled, and now of course have all sorts of grandious leavened dreams -- loaves for everyone....

But I do have a stupid question. Uh -- what do you do with the little mixer hickiedoodle at the bottom? For my First Loaf, I just baked it in, and yanked it out of the loaf, without too much trauma to the loaf -- but of course I am wondering if there is something basic I should be doing to make sure the little guy doesn't get baked into it in the first place.

Anyone who can set me straight, well, at least on this small matter, will be the object of my gratitude.

1. My old bread machine left the mixer blade in the loaf
It even came with a tool to extract it.

2. LOL... I have the same issue with my machine
As far as I know, you just yank it out of the loaf... but if someone has suggestions, please let us ignorant robo-bakers know...

:D

3. Sometimes it stays in the bread sometimes not. I usually coat the
interior of the bread pan and mixing blade with vegetable oil to keep the bread from sticking to the pan and the blade from staying in the bread.

4. It bakes in the bread
Hazard of using a bread machine, I'm afraid. I use a small knife and gently cut around the edge, then slip rotator out when the loaf is mostly cool. If you wait until the loaf is completely cool its much harder to remove.

6. Thanks
Thanks for this definitive answer.

It's really not a big deal -- it pulls out easily enough.
