1. I love the Hunt for Red October

2. I liked Hunt for Red October

as the best story, but I enjoyed watching Patriot Games even more because I enjoyed the diversity of settings, and how they tracked that IRA group down.

Most of "Hunt" could have been filmed in the same bathroom and I wouldn't have noticed. Besides, Fred Thompson spoiled it for me, although Daniel Davis was excellent opposite him in dialogue.

I thought The Sum of All Fears was crappy.

5. Sum of All Fears

was crappy because they changed so much. They were going for the Ben Affleck youth demographic and failed.
