Sh-boom! Sh-boom! Alang alang a dip.
Life could be a dream
If I could take you up to paradise up above
And you would tell me I'm the only one that you love
Life could be a dream, sweetheart.

If you only know the corny Crewcuts version of this song (the one with all the yadda dadda dadda daddas), then you haven't really heard this song.

"Life could be a dream.... If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love," sang the Chords in this doo-wop hit. Some music historians consider this to be the first rock & roll record. Said Keyes, the group's first tenor, " were like horns blowing rhythmic things." The "boom" in the title chorus was inspired by the then-raging fear of the H-bomb.

Appears on: Doo Wop Box (Rhino)
