My Heart's Heavy Tonight
A fantastically beautiful 27 year old girl is sitting in jail tonight for felony fugitive arrests from another state, which she had been placed on probation for three years due to drug charges. She was arrested in this state for marijuana possession and possession of a synthetic drug, and drug paraphanalia. She had already been convicted in yet another state for drug usage. She's been through rehab and detox twice. Her web picture shows her as strung out and pathetic. I hurt for her because of what she could have been and the drug damage done to her so she didn't see what she could have been.

She would never harm another person. We need to do redo drug laws in this country. Rather than viewing them as a crime, we need to see them as an illness.

4. Thanks
This girl doesn't belong in prison but that is where she's headed. It sickens me. I imagine she'll get at least two years in prison.

7. It's the daughter of a co-worker
The mother in California introduced her to drugs. Her father and step-mother are yuppies here and have decided she needs to be held accountable.

5. But maybe it should be redone
to make her spend that time in rehab. I think rehab time would be better then prison, but I do agree that some time, somewhere, is needed.

I hope she gets her act together.

6. So sorry, for this one and all the others
There is a ton of money being made by illegal drugs and the drug kings throw many of those greenbacks at the people who make the laws. We lose many good people in the process.

9. She's been in detox/rehab twice
Full measure. The first one costing $10,000.00 for a 30 day treatment. Again, she's never harmed anyone nor could she ever.

I just want to scream of the unfairness. The only victim is her.

11. No one argues

that she needs to be straight. Sadly, she'll be the first one to admit that. Her folks won't bail her out because she will skip.

I'm just pointing out the huge hold that drugs have. She is absolutelu beautiful but her mug shot shows a druggie with red eyes and a taught face.

It is sad and common but no one wishes to bring it up as an issue.

12. Suppose she drives a car when wasted.
I know how that can end up as i did it in my 20's and thankfully hurt no one. I did crash thier car and messed up thier vacation.

The only victom is not HER. I KNOW this all to well. I still at age 46 relive what my stupidity did.

Sorry if that upsets you but it is my story.

14. Erika, I saw the damage I could do.
I saw it wasn't just me that could be hurt but others who had done nothing but live thier lives.

I am sorry if you can not see that.

15. It should be treated as a health problem
not a legal one. This country's drug laws are a disgrace.
