Bought Season 2 of "Monk" yesterday.
It has my favorite episode, "Mr. Monk and the Very, Very Old Man." The final scene is the BEST.

6. Monk -- should be the poster child for the autistic freedom movement.
I will tell you something. In our present society, the only ones that excel are those who can multi-task and manage the superficial appearance of sociability. I say superficial, because if you talk to people who are "people-persons" & successful, you'll find they don't make deep relationships. Just enough to make a good first impression, and move on. Perfect for making face time at a cocktail party.

So, anyways, imagine how many brilliant minds this society is overlooking, because it values people who multi-task, even if they can't delve deep enough into a project to discover something new?

People who can only single-task, are seen as odd as Monk. And this is society's loss. Don't expect the corporations to do anything to improve things.

7. "Monk" rules!
The show is set in one of my fave cities, Tony Shaloub is a great actor, and Bitty Schram's character, Sharona is such a great counterpoint to the Monk character.

8. It has a great supporting cast.
And I really like the way Tony Shaloub steps back from time to time to let the others have their moment. In the end, it only makes the show that much more interesting when actors are allowed to develop their own characters.

10. Bitty Schramm won't be with the show anymore.
She held out for more money, and the producers said no.

Sharona's been written out of the show. A new woman character has been written into the plot line.
