3. i am going to try and treat this insomnia like jet lag...
i just have to push thru the rest of the day and go to bed at a normal hour Sat. night. (it still feels like Friday night to me, sun isn't up yet)

I have trouble getting to sleep lately, I hope this will work. It certainly wasn't on purpose. but when you make to the next sunrise, wtf else can you do? :-) I'll be jittery for sure around 2pm, oh well.

6. Insomnia sucks
How long have you been having insomnia? Do you drink coffee?

I was waking up in the middle of the night, and I would end up going back to sleep around 4am. And of course that fucks up my sleep cause I have a hard time waking up at 6am to get ready for work. I found that it was because I was drinking 2 cups of coffee after work. I quit that shit and I'm sleeping throught the night again.

Insomnia sucks. Maybe you're worried about something? I hope you sleep like a baby tonight..

7. thanks for the kind words.
I rarely drink coffee and I think this is just how I am wired. My mom told me I was like this when I was a little kid. she'd put me to bed a 8 or 9 and she'd come check on me at 11 or so when she went to bed and I would still be awake. Just lying there, playing quietly with my doll I slept with or telling myself stories.

I am just a night person I think. I have done the elimination of caffine, exercise in the am , in the pm, in the afternoon, drugs (which work of course, but they suck), hypnosis, meditation, yoga, etc...the best ones were yoga and meditation. tonight, I just didn't even realize what time it was until after 3am.

I am worried about a bunch of things, i am sure that has some effect on the severity of it. :-(

It'll pass, it always does.

8. much better ! The rain stopped and the sun came out on thursday!
It's been chilly, but not terribly uncomfortable here in Sac. Tahoe has gotten a buttload of snow, but we're okay. I think there's a chance of fog again this am, that comes and goes lately, not really a big deal unless you are driving a lot, in which case I'd advise slowing down cause it pops up quickly!

10. we've been here for 8 months, I like it
I like getting to know the surrounding areas, everything is so close! (except san diego!) I am used to Texas, it takes 8 hours to get out of the state! Our day and weekend trips have been great. I am looking forward to hiking more in the summer out at Mt. Shasta. any insider tips for day/weekend road trips besides the usual (SF Tahoe Reno Napa)?

13. Some day trips I can think of...
Wine tasting in Amador County...much more laid back than Napa Valley.

When the daffodils are blooming, don't miss a trip to Daffodil Hill and visit Indian Grinding Rock State Park on the same trip.

Rafting on the American River.

BTW..hope you reach 1000....I just got to 300 on that last reply :bounce:

14. yea for 300! It wasn't very long ago for me!
I am almost there! phew.

thanks for the suggestions, when might those flowers bloom? My garden still has flowers in bloom, so I can't count on my sense of season here in CA! I was supposed to go rafting last summer, but they closed due to high winds on the day we showed up! I like napa, but it can be very stuffy, I will have to get over to Amador.

12. yah, it does make me wake up, but it's not the main catalyst
I quit caffeine completely for several months (no chocolate either) and it didn't help. I am just wired weird.
