Sheesh. Watching this doco on the group (awesome videos BTW). Grace Slick has aged badly since 1999.

But the guys. All of them. Have all of their hair. :cry:

Life is so unfair.

And think of all the drugs they took! I haven't taken any, despite acting as if I had! :wow:

1. Knock on wood...
As a former frequent recreational drug user (and sometimes abuser), I still have my hair. But then I'm only 38, hence the knock...

2. Well
I haven't seen recent pictures of them but I bet some of those guys got hair implants. Are you completely bald or just balding up top, the back, etc? If I was a guy balding and if I thought I looked like shit, I would shave my head completely. I love shaved heads. However, I know bald men whom I think are hot as hell. Works on some guys I guess.

Don't feel bad HypnoToad. I bet you don't look bad at all. :hug:

3. I saw them in Miami last year
At the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in Feb. 2004. There was a new young "Grace" singer (she was awesome), and there were only two original band members as far as I could tell. So maybe the reason the look so good is that they've been replaced by fresh young things.

5. Hair isn't everything
Funny you should mention...This happened earlier this week:

Jefferson Airplane Drummer Dies

PETALUMA, Calif. - Spencer Dryden, the drummer for legendary rock band the Jefferson Airplane, has died of cancer. He was 66.

Dryden, who died at his home Tuesday, retired from performing 10 years ago, although he hadn't been working much before that.
"I'm gone," he told the San Francisco Chronicle last May. "I'm out of it. I've left the building."

A benefit concert last year featuring Bob Weir (news) of the Grateful Dead and Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule and raised $36,000 for Dryden, who was in the middle of two hip replacement surgeries and was facing heart surgery at the time. His Petaluma home and all his possessions had been destroyed in a fire in September 2003. He also had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.

<snip>
He last appeared in public in November, after he was already being treated for cancer, signing autographs and shaking hands at a release party for the DVD of Jefferson Airplane video clips.
