2. let's see
If a person had a mom or dad on here, then the mom or dad would have a child, right? I don't see child as an option.

23. Why no option for none?
I have a friend, not on DU (but a Democrat), who has absolutely no family in the world. She was adopted, her parents were only children, she's divorced (I forget the rest of the story). Why no love for her?

And, I don't have any family on DU. I want to vote.

29. I couldn't vote in your poll, and both Mrs. V. and I are here.
Mrs. V. is not my "wife." Obviously she is not my "husband." If I had to choose a word that everyone on earth could understand, it would be "spouse" -- even though that's not legally true yet.

She is my beloved mate and my life-long partner.

Maybe that's the problem with the radical right (not your poll, by any means): not all gay couples use a gender-identifying label for our other halves. Or, we refuse to be pigeon-holed for their understanding.

30. Couldn't vote because you didn't have the right category
My aunt Anita, a retiree from the US Air Force, posts here once in a great while as "Gracie 43."
John
She lives in New Hampshire now. I haven't actually seen her in about 12 years.
