I like to make a distinction between RW radicals and RW fanatics
RW radicals think everything leftist must be evil.

RW fanatics think not only everything leftist must be evil, but also everything evil must be somehow leftist!

That, coupled with "everything I don't like is evil," gives rise to the tinfoilhatty illusion that the world is nearly overrun by an evil, centuries-long leftist conspiracy inspired by Satan himself. Plus much other nonsense like "Hitler was a leftist" or "Hitler wanted to exterminate Christians just like he did Jews" or "Tinky Winky is gay propaganda."

The generalizations arwalden refers to here are nothing more than an instance of that.
