3. I ordered Trefoils, Lemon Coolers, Samoas, and Thin Mints.
My favorites are the Tagalongs, and that's why I didn't order any.

10. Yes, but you go the gym about 20 times a day, so you can afford
to eat all those cookies - the rest of us should just slap the cookies on our respective asses, cause that's where they'll end up anyway :7

4. I dunno. For some reason I thought we were supposed to boycott
the Girl Scouts and their cookie campaign.

It seems there was a controversy last year.

BTW, I love the mint cookies, anyway.

:D

16. No, the Fundies were boycotting the Girl Scouts
because they sometimes have planned parenthood speakers. Google planned parenthood and girl scouts and you'll get a ton of screeching fundie sites: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=girl+scouts+planned+parenthood

It's the Boy Scouts we don't like. ;)

14. No way fluffer! I just had a girl scout knock on my door too!
I ordered one box of Thin Mints. Those double dutch look good though. I'm surprised there is no low-carb girl scout cookie.

Thanks for the comment about my name in the other post. It actually is my middle name, but I didn't want to say so in that thread. Anyone searching for personal information could just zoom to that thread.

18. I was involved in Girl Scouts for many years.....
It's a good program and I hope that I have made a difference in some young girl's life while I was a leader. I used to have girls whose home life was the pitz and by being in Girl Scouts, they had some time once a week where they could be themselves and be a part of group of other girls that hopefully enriched their lives.

Now that I'm out of it, I try my best to support them at cookie time.
There are 2 different bakers who make the cookies, so not all areas of the country have the same cookies. And the names of the cookies are different as well.

Thin Mints (the best!)
Peanut Butter Sandwiches (Do-Si-Dos I rate #2)
All Abouts (#3)

You can have the Samoas......I don't like coconut

Gotta find me a GS to order some!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or wait til they are delivered and do their sidewalk sales.

I always throw the thin mints in the freezer, which makes them taste even better. Anyone else do that?

27. oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one who did this!
Just thinking about it makes me drool! I'm sorry I am reading this thread now, and looking at the pictures of the cookies. I had just finished reading the Feb. issue of Oprah, where she is talking about a new dedication to losing weight, and I am seriously considering taking it on. I really need to lose about 70lbs, and reading/seeing the most delicious cookies EVER is just not what I need to have a mental picture of! Damn. :grr:

By the way, how many times per year do they sell these cookies, and when is it? Seems like its more than once per year.

23. SAMOAS all the way baby
Those darn cookies are soooooooooooooooooooo good and soooooo addictive. The girl scouts have been on my tail for the last few days. I've been diving into shrubbery, pulling up the hood on my sweatshirts, pressing the gas & downright running away. It's diet time. And diets and girl scouts dont mix. I donated $20 to my niece for Girl Scout cookies and told her to either take them to school and share them with friends or donate them to the local churches food pantry.

26. LOL
ya, I work nights, 6PM to 6AM and there's this hammering on my door at noon. A man, distressed at the sight of my obviously just-woken-up-ass, says he's very sorry and is pulling his little girl away from the my door. I said, hey wait a minute - what you got there? Cookies? I'll take some thin mints - and some do-si-dos. Guy cracked up. I spent the next hour on my couch devouring cookies. :O

35. apparently I've been out of scouts for far too long
it's only january and some of you on this thread already have cookies in hand??? it used to be "take orders in Feb., deliver/have stands outside grocery stores/etc in March." All our ordering sheets were marked with a big DO NOT START SELLING BEFORE THIS DATE sticker.

*shrug* Not that it really matters; I'm just jealous because you already have cookies! I may have to go give my little cousin a call. "Hey, Rachel, can you hook me up with some of those Samoas?"

:)
