6. ANY Wetton-Bruford material.
1). Larks Tongues In Aspic
2). Starless and Bible Black
3). Red
4). USA

...plus the following "archive" releases which followed the demise of that band:

5). The Great Deceiver box set (4 CDs, all live...Providence RI is one deadly mo-fo)
6). The Night Watch (2 CDs, the complete live concert from which the live "Starless and Bible Black" tracks were drawn from)

:toast:

13. DEFINATELY don't forget RED
IMHO it has been sadly overlooked by the Crimso cognizetti. Some of Wetton's best vocals, and some of Fripp's best guitar work.

And DEFINATELY check out "The Night Watch", too!. Even though it's a live recording, a couple of the tracks appeared on the "studio" album "Starless..." with only minimal overdubs.

If you can find it, also spring for the "Frame By Frame" box set, or any of the other major career retrospectives. The liner notes are worth the price alone.

15. Most of my Crimso stuff is on vinyl
I was listening to their old stuff ('69-'74)in the mid-80s, and everybody thought I was slightly insane, as I was only 14 years old. It's good to see them get the recognition they deserve these days.

14. Fripp rules !
I have been listening to them since Court / Poseiden. Each lineup and era had its moments. I agree that the Wetton / Bruford stuff is the most powerful, but the Belew stuff is the most musical and Robert really seems to love playing off of him. The Guitar Trio stuff gets interesting, so does BLUE (Bruford Levin Upper Extremities). Exposure is a great solo album.

17. I see there's a new digital remaster of Earthbound.
The live album with the Fripp, Mel Collins, Boz Burrell (later of Bad Company) and Ian Wallace. Good version of Schizoid Man. I have to get it. I lent my vinyl copy out about 25 years ago and never saw it again.

18. Yeah, "Earthbound" was very hard to find
I remember looking for it everywhere back in the 80s. Although the quality was poor and Fripp hated it, I heard that it was still a good record of the Fripp/Boz/Collins/Wallace conflagration. I may have to pick up the reissue, just for the sake of completeness.

19. Definitely catch them live.
They are just incredible musicians. They try different arrangements, but they can also play any of their material precisely any time they want to. It's staggering.
