1. LDS stands for...
Latter Day Saints?
Lonely Dating Society?
Lost Darned Socks?
Lovely Dreaming States?

And - congrats on the milestone in advance!

18. They're a satirical country band.
Very funny. Figured you'd know them, since you're both from Austin. I've never been to Austin, but have always wanted to go because I've heard it's a great music scene. Is that true?

33. no, I grew up in Arkansas, extreme north part in the Ozarks
but I needed out of there. Not the best place for a gay man wanting to live freely. Too much judging from too many relatives.

34. Strange you should move to Texas!
I have two lesbian friends that fled from there because of jugemental relatives.

Sitll, it must have been one hell of a culture shock going from the mountainous, forested Ozarks to flat, treeless Texas.

Congrats on the 4000 posts!

38. thanks.. Texas is very different
but it is home now. The Hill Country west of town looks somewhat like the Ozarks, but the Ozarks are much greener.

I had family move down here. Ended up four of us nine kids live in Austin. I wasn't the only one who wanted somewhere new. Its kinda odd, since my family has lived in that town forever. In fact, the town in Arkansas I grew up in is named for my mother's family. I really needed out of there.

20. Actually they are wrong about that. When Nicholas II abdicated for
himself and his son, Nicholas' younger brother became czar Michael II. Kerensky persuaded Michael to abdicate one day later.

26. LOL! Check out Robert K. Massie's Nicholas and Alexandra
for a very readable account of the period.

CNN should have asked Judy Woodruff, since I sure she was probably there when it happened. :silly:

I went to UT and lived there for four years. :) Take my advice DO NOT drink margaritas at a place called Uncle Nasty's just off the Drag. 1/3 everclear 1/3 Tequila 1/3 mixer. They hurt!

Sometimes I wouldn't mind being outside town. I grew up in a town of a thousand people. I miss the calmness of it. Now I live practically downtown. When we move we are thinking of outside town, but no where as far as you are.
