There were a lot of real A-list stars (and a few decidedly b-list)there - you gotta know there's a thousand celebrities who sat by the phone last week waiting for Clooney to call. And Clooney has said NO celebrity turned him down (so he didn't ask Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks? Bruce Springsteen?)

And now they have to recalculate their Hollywood worth by comparing themselves to Rhea Perlman. It's gotta be hard.

Angelina Jolie has to wonder "Why Kate Hudson?". Does Usher feel put out by Nelly? Hell even the Olsen Twins must be thinking "Vin Diesel, but not us?"

2. Yeah.... very nice
performances by Madonna, Gloria Estefan, John Mayer, Josh Groban (ugh), Diana Ross, Elton John, Eric Clapton & Roger Waters, Sarah MacLaughlin, Norah Jones, Annie Lennox, Nelly, Cheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder and India.ali, and probably a bunch I'm forgetting.

Good celebs on the phones: Clooney, Pitt, Nic Cage, Jonny Depp, Kate Hudson, Meg Ryan, Dennis Hopper, Danny Devito, Rob Lowe and tons more.

3. I wish I had caught it
Good cause, just end of always thinking of Jerry Lewis when I hear words like "telethon", etc.

:)

4. I admire Gloria Estefan, but she is performing at the inauguration
for the Chimp, however, she has a heart of gold and gives as much as she gets for good causes. That Sarah MacLaughlin song tears my heart out every time I hear it - damn, that's a sad song, but really nice, just like the songwriter.

5. Yeah, Sarah
is awesome. As to Gloria Estefan performing at the inauguration, I don't much care. I really don't expect all performers to be political. In fact, we'd be upset at performers who refused to perform at a Democrat's inauguration. I'm perfectly willing to live with the fact that a lot of people will perform for ANY president when asked. I'd hate to see EVERY artist pigeonholed by party.
