Skol Vikings!!! Beat the cheesesteak out of Philly

In case you non-Scandanavian Eagle fans wonder what "skol" means, read on:

'Skol' is a Scandanavian greeting that originates back to the days of the marauding Vikings of the Dark Ages. After they opened up a can of whoop-ass on some poor Roman Legion, or hapless Anglo army, they'd grab the opposing king or general and cut off his head, boil it, and drink from his skull (skoll) as a tribute from one warrior to another. Believe it or not, it was a show of respect. It honored the vanquished foe's courage in battle and meant that he was welcome to sit in the halls of Vallhalla and dine with Odin, the Zeus of Viking Gods, if you will. And as the Viking king would drink from the skull of his conquered foe, his boys would yell "Skoll!!"

It got watered down over the years to a standard greeting like "hello", or "cheers", but in the context of "Skol Vikings" it means to utterly destroy your enemy so your king will drink from the skull of theirs.

But we just use it as the title of our fight song, and we won't cut off the head of Andy Reid.

Moss will just drop trou on the 50 after the win.

And stay the hell out of Vallhalla.

As a lifelong Minnesotan (35+ years), I know darn well that it's not a good idea to jump on the bandwagon until the very end of the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl when the ViQueens are up by at least 21 points.

Although I would like to see Moss dopeslap Andy Reid, just on principal!
