MAD TV just blows SNL out of the water. |
|
I'm loving tonight's show. One scene was taking a jab at VH1's I Love the 70s/80s/90s with a show about the 00s. It had me cracking up when they started repeating stuff that had just happened.

Just clicking around without much hope after watching 5 minutes of SNL. Am delighted to have stumbled on Mad TV. Much funnier!

7. You're right! The sketches on MadTV generally have an arc... |
|
unlike the bulk of SNL's offerings. SNL's only saving grace is Robert Smigel's cartoons. Lorne Michaels and NBC need to shoot that sad, pathetic, limping cash cow. But they won't.

8. Lorne Michaels and NBC need to shoot each other. |

They are both comedy antichrists. The contract SNL performers have to sign contains a "career killer" clause. There is clause states that, if a movie is developed based on a character they originated on SNL, they are contractually obligated to do the film.
Lorne Michaels needs multiple gunshot wounds. Let's have a look at his resume, shall we?
The Ladies' Man Superstar A Night at the Roxbury (okay, tasting a little bile at the back of my throat...) Black Sheep Coneheads Three Amigos* (choking it down...)
He has had his hand, in some way, in every comedic turd I've seen since the early eighties. One big name in comedy, nicest guy in the world, and I sat in a bar drinking and thinking of amusing ways to kill him. I won't say what our favorite was, just in case he goes through with it. I hope he doesn't, because I'll owe him a couple hundred bucks.
*rumor has it that Steve Martin actually apologized to the original writer, whose name eludes me at the moment...
