Remember? I do. Every classroom in my high school had a television set wheeled in to watch the "first teacher in space" live that morning. At first we couldn't quite figure out what had happened - but it quickly became all too clear. A sad day.

On edit I was in grade 9 at the time and as to what my then half grown kitten, Midnight was doing, at the time he was busy walking on people's faces and purring.

I was going to School at Durance Elementary in Orlando Florida, we were watching it take off. Then a puff of smoke. . . My teacher got worried, we were too young to realize what happened.

We wheeled in a television. It was very sad. That was my sophomore year in high school, so life was sucking pretty hard in general at that point.
