27. was ending a summer in europe with a eurorail pass.........
Read all of Che Gueverra's books on the trains and learned how to smoke cigarettes.

Experienced the Who at a race track south of London, people were hanging around the front gate selling lsd for a pound ($2.80-us at the time). They played some of their old stuff, then went into a thing called "Tommy".

The next day or so a barber/hair stylist told me about some gnarly killings in California. Roman Polanski's wife.

Finally after a three day delay of the student charter flight, left Gatwick and flew to New York, bypassed Woodstock and continued on to Love Field. Slept thru the Lewisville pop festival.

Also first heard the Crosby Stills and Nash album in the month August 1969.

29. I'm spending two weeks
with my parents, swooping around the country on vacation. Riding in the back seat of a big green Buick LeSabre.

That was the summer we made a brief stop in NYC, but spent most of our time in D.C. I remember taking the tour of the White House and briefly touching a silk-covered wall. I remember seeing the bullet holes in the Capitol from the War of 1812. I remember being in the gallery during a routine Senate session, and being shocked that there were only a couple of people on the floor.

45. Six years old, hearing the Philadelphia Folk Festival nearby
I was six years old, playing in an old cornfield in the Perkiomen Valley, 30 miles north of Philadelphia, hearing some distant music from the Philadelphia Folk Festival in Schwenksville, about two miles away.
As far as I can see, all I can see is miles of open fields of corn and hay, and some forests and groves in between.
Pardon me for saying this so simply, as I remember:
It was Paradise. There has never been a more beautiful part of the world.
And while I ran through those fields, I heard the music of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and that just made it all the more magical!
:-)

I know my dad was just drafted and in Arlington, VA. He was out with a buddy of his and had to get him back to base. So they were driving and decided to stop at a motel to watch the moon landing in the lobby. He said they couldn't tell what the hell was going on- it was just a bunch of shadows and fuzzy pictures and whatnot. Then they had to drive like hell to get back to the base.

Some people are speading synteko on a room's floor. The entire house smells foul.

56. I'm 9 years old.
I spent the day at a historic old ranch that was torn down in '74 to make room for more housing tracts. I arrived at 7:30 am, dropped off by my mom on her way to work. I found the ranch hands loading hay into the back of an ancient ford pick up, and climbed aboard to help throw hay; the truck drove down all the lanes, and we threw hay into corrals, stalls, and dry lot pens as we passed. It took more than one truck load; there were 200+ horses to feed.

Then, while the horses were eating breakfast, I got out some tack to clean. When breakfast was over, I got out the horse I'd been assigned to for lessons, and did an hour of work in the arena. I bathed and groomed the horse, put her away, and got out one of the horses I was assigned to exercise. I exercised horses, and did some very basic lessoning in manners, in return for free lessons and access to horses to ride. I spent another hour on my assigned horse, and by the time I was done a few friends had arrived. Most had their own horses; they grabbed their horses, I grabbed another horse that needed riding, and we hit the trail. We spent a couple of hours running over the hills, stopping to sit under trees, racing, etc., then headed back. At this point, it was hot and we were sweaty, dusty, and tired. We fixed that problem by having a water fight, then grabbed some of the ranches ponies and headed into town. "Into town" meant crossing a freeway overpass and tying the ponies up to a hitching post under a giant oak in the center of a parking lot. We left the ponies tied in the shade, and went into a small little independent pizza place for lunch. We hung out for awhile, playing the jukebox, and headed back to the ranch. At which point we made the rounds and filled up all the waterers that weren't automatic. Then we spent a little time hanging out in the tackroom, until it was evening feeding time. We all piled in to help feed. While the horses were eating dinner, we spent a happy hour in the big arena playing football. I was a great offensive and defensive line girl, and managed to sack the opposing quarterback on a regular basis. He was cute. After "supper," we all helped catch, groom, and saddle the herd of horses needed to provide the local "California Ranger" troop with riding animals; they leased them from the ranch for their lessons and drills. Then I got out another horse I was assigned to exercise, and spent another hour at that. By the time I was done, my mom had showed up to pick me up on her way home from work. While she was chatting with someone else's mom, I put the horse away, and slipped away behind the barn with a couple of people. I made sure I couldn't "hear" her calling me, and made sure she didn't find me until about 9pm.
