31. Speaking of Seventh Day Adventists
My grandpa, who died in 1972, said there were some Seventh Day Adventists in the hospital, trying to get him, just before he died. It was weird because his family was Mormon and he was an atheist. Why he thought the Seventh Day Adventists were after him is a mystery. I remember this because I had never heard of Seventh Day Adventists. My grandma thought they were interns for some reason.

2. yep, sure did
driving through tennessee one afternoon I tried to find something to listen to. God was on every station, and the hatemonger was talking about the evils of yoga, eastern philosophy, Hinduism, Buddhism, and, by inference, Taoism, Shinto and any other great tradition of the East.

His words did little to help me understand his beliefs in God, because all he talked about was the wickedness of everyone not like him.

5. Yeah...I heard that one too. My response to that is usually....
...if yoga is anti-Christian because of its culture of origin, then the Olympic Games must be anti-Christian because the games were originally created to honor the Greek God's of Olympus.

6. Yep,
a religious acquaintance got a stern look in his eye when I suggested a couple yoga moves to ease his lower back strain. He was about to launch into a lecture when I reminded him he'd just be STRETCHING, not seeking alternate enlightenment!

12. Uh-huh....that's how they get you.
Sucker you in for "stretching" and next thing you know you'll be handing out flowers and booklets at the airport.

Just like baptists sucker you in with their "suppers". Watch out! There's a hook in that food!

Tee-hee!

It's gone beyond suppers, they're hosting good, clean teen parties and marriage retreats these days. I gotta admit, I could really go for one of those Baptist suppers though...

19. The primary institutions behind Christianity proclaim themself to be
the one true path to salvation. Any other teaching is just a work of Satan.

What it really boils down to is competing mental constructs. Some are more open ended and can coexist with others. Some are predatory and exclusionary. They see any other idea as threatening and seek to drive them out.

who believed you had to do EVERYTHING advertising told her to, and switched using different products at 30-second intervals in front of the TV. Anyone remember that?

29. Well, you know
yoga actually means to join yourself with God. It's not supposed to be mere exercises. There are many ways to do this, which is why there are many types of yoga: karma yoga, jnana yoga, raja yoga, hatha yoga, bhakti yoga. Since these come from India I can see why some would say that it is anti-Christian, although I would say non-Christain myself rather than anti-Christian.

34. Because it is akin to "humanism"
This is what I was always taught. Basically, anything that relies on YOU instead of God is considered "humanist" and is anti-Christian. Same thing for any thing that is self-help oriented. The reasoning is that you are putting your faith and trust in something else or in yourself instead of relying on God. Don't flame me - I'm just telling you what some believe.
