So I'm listening to Morning Sedition and they are talking about

the coronation.

They are discussing how all the marching bands, color guards, etc. are going to be taken to grounds near the Pentagon first to be searched, then to holding pens near the parade route where they are not allowed to leave except to go to the porta potties and under guard. They also have been told that when they pass the president they are not to look at him and not to make any sudden movements.

So, I guess that leaves out all forms of saluting while marching, as the traditional way of saluting is for flags to be moved suddenly from an upright position to being held straight ahead, it also normally involved the outer column closest to the "honoree" to salute and all other columns to turn their heads and look in that direction.
