...and see a Snow Leopard sitting by the dryer vent.

(I didn't really see a Snow Leopard this morning, but I did watch the Special on PBS last night.)

1. when there is someone icefishing in your back yard...
no kidding. We have a creek that runs through our back yard and yesterday one of our neighbors drilled a whole in it, and dragged an ice fishing hut down the street to the creek. We recently moved to Wisconsin from NYC to see an icefishing hut in the back yard is just too funny.

3. In Wisconsin, any excuse to sit and drink is a good excuse.
I'm sure you're finding that out.

6. A co-worker from North Dakota
Told me of a time when he and his dad went to get their fishing hut from a frozen lake. He was still relatively young and had to drive the truck back off the ice after they got the hut tied to the truck. His dad was going to walk behind it to keep it steady and on track. He did okay and was going relatively slow, but he lost control for a second but regained it quickly, but the hut was suddenly going past him, and his dad was riding it, holding on for dear life. Apparently he had jumped on it when my co-worker had lost control to steady it, and their line snapped.

10. expected high of 32 degrees today
Chilly for the South, but par for the course at this time of year. Last week it was in the 70's...

People here don't really know what cold is. You should see it when it snows, the whole town shuts down with 6-8" of snow. Fortunately, that only happens once every 20 years.

Whee!

11. It's really cold when you see mini-Ice Bergs floating in Lake Michigan.
Saw them yesterday on my way to church. Very eerie, with steam rising from the lake surface.

12. LOL@snow leopard by the dryer vent!!!
very funny!

Yesterday one of my kittys "identified" a mouse intruder in our house (guess the poor little mousey was cold and figured some way to get in). Anyway, we captured the lil mouse and released him near my unfriendly (and catless) neighbor's house.
