I just discovered the most incredible black licorice |
|
It's Lucky Country Soft Aussie. (Yes, it's from Austrailia.) It's as soft as melting butter, and is VERY good. I'd never heard of it before, but I found it at a store today.
They also sell red licorice, which is just as good.

17. Good, I love licorice! Back in the olden days, when I was young... |
|
That was one of the few candies made it into the wilderness in which I lived. :-(

Grandma always made her homemade anisette liquor for Christmas and mailed it to everyone (is the postmaster watching?). After getting drunk as a child on the stuff too many times I cannot drink it as an adult (or even smell it :puke:).
But give me your addy and I'll ask Grandma to mail you some. ;)

16. But, but, it smells just like black licorice. You can't like black |
|
licorice without liking Anisette.

I may need to try the black even though I'm not that much of a black licorice fan.

dang it was yummy! Ate it all in two days and like an idiot, didn't bring home the empty bag so don't even recall what it was called. Was very, very good though. I like both black and red licorice.
