Our first winter with radiators. Need some help. |

No heat. Any tricks those of you who use radiators can share?

It depends on what kind you have, but you may need to do this. Do they have knobs on them? If not, you will need a key which you can get at any hardware store.

3. Yes, there's a knob, do I open them and then close? |

How much time do you leave them open? Is there some sound or signal to listen for?

4. Open them until water comes out and then close them again. |

There's a valve on each radiator to do this; when you get air in the line, they work poorly. I'd call a plumber in the morning, and watch how he/she does it.

the old fashioned vertical radiators? Do they have a shut off valve at the bottom? Are they steam radiators or hot water? If they are hot water do you have an automatic water make up system?
Many possibilities blm, and hey how you doing?

Are the radiators warm at all? If so where? If warm on bottom only they do not have enough water in the system. Do they have a shut off valve on the bottom. Where is your boiler? Gas or oil?
Go to PM if you wish

Is it a gravity system or is there a water circulating pump?
