Just a heads up, and it's almost sure to change...
But for those of you in the mid-atlantic and northeast, there is the potential for a significant snowstorm Sunday into Monday, depending on location.
Remarkably, there appears to be very good agreement on the major models on the handling of this storm, leading to a higher confidence in at least some event. I don't want to bore everyone with meteoroligical mumbo-jumbo, but basically it looks (and remember this is 6 days away) that cities from Raleigh to Portland could be under the gun for crippling snowfalls. Stay tuned.

14. That's cute!
They're even worse there then here. Here it takes some snow or ice on the roads to cause a delay. With good reason too, these people shouldn't be on the roads before the sand trucks! Woo Hoo! Ice on the roads go real fast then hit your brakes. :P

3. You can have the snow, John
We already had a full winter's worth here in Ohio in the space of 24 hours right before Christmas. It snowed another couple of inches here the other day. Next time somebody orders snow around here, I'll have them send it your way.

22. where do you live?
I could tell you what it looks like now, but it's almost certain to change in the next few days... Suffice it to say, I belive some areas will get slammed (measuring snow in feet,) and it is very possible that those places will be the I-95 cities... the synoptic set up is actually incredibly similar to the Jan 96 blizzard.

10. They promise and promise and promise
Just when I buy another four-wheel-drive vehicle,

THEY PULL ME BACK IN.

Lying bastard meteorologists. All I want is a couple of feet of snow, and what do they deliver?

Flurries.

FLURRIES.

Is it too much for me to want the world's biggest snowstorm to start in Alexandria, Virginia and environs at 11 pm on Wednesday and continue for several days?

18. hey now. . . some of us don't earn if we don't work
snow that brings the economy to a grinding halt -- like two winters ago -- is fun for a day, but not a week, and the DC metropolitan area freaks when it flurries as it is.

However, I do admit, the silence after a major snowfall is practically a spiritual experience.

29. I understand
OK, a compromise:

How about snow starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, falling at a record rate for six hours, and then mysteriously melting overnight?

I could be happy watching it all for one day.

See, I got an agenda here .....................

Don't worry, you'll get some snow to use that 4x4. I have one too and employed it a few times last winter, and last winter was weak on accumulation.
