8. 3 is a great age.
Enjoy. That is one thing I will never get to be, an Aunt. Too bad, I'd have made a really good one. Enjoy him.

3. Being an Uncle or Auntie is the BEST job in the world! Enjoy every minute
You are in charge of teaching all the colorful, really cool, fun stuff that responsible, reasonable parents won't teach but know their kids have to learn to have a full life. You get to be that magical person who becomes the youngster's first safe grownup friend, not as stern as a parent and more secure than anyone but a parent.

Here's a :toast:
May your tribe prosper and multiply!
Enjoy every moment you and that lad share.

I envy what you have ahead of you by remembering all my precious time with a young man who is not around anymore. ZombyWolf, savor every damned moment. Do not miss a detail. And be your best for him always.

XO to the lad

hm

6. Thanks havocmom!
I will get to see him again this spring, and now he is old enough so he will remember me! I won't teach him too many bad things (like eating only Oreos and chocolate milk for dinner!). ;-)

23. Yes, as I have always told my many nieces and nephews
Parents discipline you, grandparents spoil you, aunts corrupt you.

To have the trust of a young person who tells you things they'd never tell their parents - that's an honor to treasure, a duty to guide....and a great way to get back at sibs for any shit they did to you as a kid.

Congrats to your family on the little feller!

16. When he's a teen and going through the "I hate my parents" phase,
Lucky you, you'll always be his UncleZomby! :D

You're lucky to get to see him often; I've missed most of my niece's growing up, and my brother missed all of my daughter's. :(
 for Zomby!

17. Truth be told
He lives 2500 miles away in North Carolina, and I have only seen him once so far, at the time of this pic. :-(

I will seem him again just before he turns 4. But I do NOT want to miss his growing up, so it won't be that long again...

 and :hi: Catzies!

20. Now see, that's what I'm talking about! My niece is in Georgia
and I'm in California. They never come out here, so the only visiting we do is when I go there. And since all my family's on the East Coast, I rotate, and 2005 is my brother's next turn. I love where he is near Atlanta, he's close enough to a lot of good stuff.

But the pic is 3.5 years old! I just don't have anything new yet.

When I venture out there this spring, my sister will be sure to take plenty of updated pics, and I will post them. :D

27. WEll, nothing like stealing someone else's joke
I admit, I didn't read all the responses before I posted. Bad, Bad me.

Yes, I have been on forced moratorium until I can get some donation $$ together so nobody gives me grief over not having a star. I make exceptions for the Zomb, of course.

I tried to quit smoking, the Internet and coffee all at once. Never do that....I have rearranged my room, cried like a fool, read half of Bill Moyers "Moyers on America" ( which I highly recommend) and realized i still miss DU. So here I am! Drinking coffee and smoking, no less! Go figure. I guess life is too damned short to be so miserable....

Luv ya babe.

Is give you any grief about the star!

As for the other advice, luckily I don't smoke, but I cannot, will not, EVER quit coffee. :D

Luv ya back!

26. I get it
You plan to commit a horrible DU crime, so you are buttering up the Lounge so they can de-tombstone you when the time comes. I mean, come on, ZombyWoof with a cat and baby? What's the next photo? Cloaking yourself in live, cute little golden retriever puppies while helping an old lady across the street?
