James Woods...does anyone know about about his political views? |
|
My husband and I have been fans of his for years(Salvador is one of our all time favorites)...now he has this poker website that we have visited a few times, however, I don't want to patronize it unless I know for sure about his politics.
It's one thing to appreciate his ability to perform his craft, but another to directly contribute to his business venture. Any information would be appreciated.
I hope he's a Democrat or Independent...but I'm ready to deal with it if he's a repub...I'm ready for anything at this point. MKJ

Like you, I am a fan of "Salvador", which was when Oliver Stone wasn't so heavyhanded, and Woods gives a great performance.
But Woods... just wait until you see some of the replies. :-)

9. I'm disappointed, but sadly, not surprised... |
|
It would have been nice if an actor of his intelligence and intensity had stayed away from the dark side, but oh, well. In the meantime, hubby and I will find other sites to play Texas Hold'em if we're so inclined.
DU is the best instant reference around. :yourock: MKJ

Search Salon.com for an interview they did with him a year or two ago. The interview reads as rightwinger, but if you read closer, you'll see that he's got some serious paranoia issues.

...where he described ** as his hero after 9/11. I don't know if he's pulled his head out of his ass since then, though.

12. If their skin was relatively brown, what else could he have said? |
|
I've seen plenty of DUers (and BartCop, etc.) mocking bush for ignoring the problems of those with "brown skin" so I don't see what the problem is, on the face of it.

that several people (who seemed to be Middle Eastern of some kind) were behaving very oddly on a flight he was on from the east coast to LAX. It was, I believe, one of the four that a couple of weeks later was hijacked.
He tried very hard to convey this information to someone who would do something about it, but could get nowhere.
He was quite specific that it seemed to him to be some kind of a trial run for something, and while he tried to report this when it happened, he really put two and two together on Sept 11th.
All of that has no bearing on whether or not he's a wingnut.

for the first time, I saw the Dennis Miller show - guest - James Woods. I didn't listen for long, they were talking about the poker site (i think), and the two of them were getting along famously! - 'nuff said. :puke:

10. I'm glad you explained why you care. |
|
Because normally it drives me NUTS when people base their opinion on someone's art partly (fully?) on their politics or some other personal trait.

11. He Was Brilliant as "Roy COHN" |
|
Also weird. Did you know that he sez that on 9-11 he was on a plane and grokked some hi-jacking was going on?
Well, you've got to be weird in order to portray weirdness.
As for Roy COHN, did you know he was cousins to BOTH Dick MORRIS *******and*******Jules FEIFFER?????????/
