It's been 0 degrees or below so I flooded the yard. You can make a Zamboni
with a garden hose and a wide shove.

1. we often made ice rinks
in the yard when we were kids. Pile up a bit circle of snow and fill it with water. We'd play hockey in the back yard.

4. Yeah, I think this will have to be an annual event. It sure beats hauling
the boys to the rink.

2. I am so jealous!
When I was little on our property there was a bog, and next to it was a lake, almost ever year the bog would freeze over and on certain years so would the lake.

It was so much fun to go and ice skate, and one year I remember it was all snowy and my dad went out and shoveled this HUGE path in this neat design and it went all over the bog, oh man it was so fun!

Good times. :7

3. That does sound cool. Great memories. That reminds me,
A local state park had a candle light walk in the woods last week. We took the kids and met some neighbors there. I was ambivalent about the whole thing, but we got there and went for a walk on candle-lit, snow-stomped path in the woods. We stopped half way along and had hot coco. We stood around for about 20 minutes and chatted. It was great. It was just a walk in the woods at night, but not something I'd ever really done in winter. Simple but really very interesting. It was vu ja de, as my friend says. I've never been here before and have no idea why we're here.
