I hate PDF documents

They take too long to open. I hate when I click on something and it opens with Adobe. Why can't it just open like a normal page? Why must people want to slow down my computer?

1. I detested it as well, but hubby fixed all computers.

I still have to delete them..... they hang around and eat all the food.

3. If it's a google link sometimes you can click

view as html.....instead of opening the pdf. It doesn't always come in the same though. I'm not a big fan of adobe either.

a small utility that enables you to turn off all unneeded plugins in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, with the result that PDFs open MUCH faster...I had the same problem you have with PDFs, but now I can open one faster than I can a Word document...

BTW, you can save a lot of time just by disabling the splash screen. You can do that in preferences.

People aren't trying to slow down your computer. They are trying to share secure and/or formatted documents with you. You would not see the documents the same way if they were in HTML.

11. No fuckin' way! I used to work at Kinko's and PDFs saved my life

on more than one occasion. I was one of the graphics guys in the computer section. Seriously, as big as they are and as long as they can take to open, they really are great. :thumbsup:

13. Come to the dark side, bebe.... Mac's preview opens fast....

Preview opens .pdfs in about 1/10th the time adobe used to take.

I used to hate .pdfs, but now I love them because I can send them out and know for CERTAIN that whatever formatting I put in the doc, it's going to stay there, and that my computer illiterate friends who don't realize that .rtf can be opened in word will be able to open the bloody document.

PDFs are really tightly integrated into OS X.

16. pdf's are ok, it's Acrobat that sucks.

especially the plugin for IE that crashes every now and then.
