9. Actually... I didn't touch it, just saw it drop out of the pile.. BUT
another time I climbed out of bed to see why the cat was yowling and stepped on her foot, only to realize she was a yard away, so that warm thing under my arch was not her.

:P

5. dead mice can be dangerous
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:49 AM by Solly Mack
They can carry the Hantavirus(many varieties of it exist).

The live mouse can't infect you but the "dust" (spores from urine/feces) from the dead mouse can get into your lungs and kill you (if not treated properly and quickly). It can take 1 to 6 weeks for symptoms to appear. It can mimmick a cold early on, so people don't always get the treatment they need asap.

Common household cleaners will kill the virus. I'd mop the area where I found the mouse with bleach if it was possible.

I understand you didn't see the mouse until it was too late. Just a word of warning to people...when you see a dead mouse: wear a mask over your nose/ mouth area, and gloves to pick it up.

Better safe than sorry. I don't "worry" over it, but I do use precautions when I see a dead mouse.

8. Oh, believe me, I know. Which is why I am annoyed that this mouse
and his family have been traipsing through my cupboards. They leave little surprises all over the place.

I really need to put some steel wool down under the sink where the pipes come up.

7. NO..my bathroom *lol* I got lazy and didn't scoop the last couple days of
clothes outta there. My theory is the mouse was dropped off in the night. Not the first time to have been done, but I am surprised the cats didn't tell us. Usually they yowl until we praise them.

*lol*
