Dammit, another cat
Found a strange cat shut in the spare bedroom this morning--apparently brought home in the middle of the night by my son who found her who-knows-where. She's a tiny brown tabby, a real sweety, but we already have six cats. I'm hoping that later, when my son gets up, he'll reveal that she's got a home.

2. just curious
what is hard about three? I've seen several cat sites stating its good to have two so they have someone to play with, but also to learn social skills from. I wouldn't think three would be too bad, but then I don't have three cats and can't be a fair judge. :) So, tell me, what's it like?

3. Well, when you have three cats...
the probability of stepping in cold cat barf in the dark on the way to the bathroom rises to 100%

4. I'm sure it depends on how much room you have
I'd like to have a third cat but live in a small condo with one very tiny second bedroom. The elder cat uses the second bedroom to get away from the younger cat. It would be unfair to have any more than what I have at the moment.

5. It is too many
But they need homes, so what are you supposed to do? We're not too crowded because we have a really big old house and also the three younger cats go outside when the weather's okay--we live in the country so that's possible. But this time of year, when everyone's indoors, it can get really crowded and tense. They were all adopted as adults rather than raised together so they don't really like each other very much.

9. Six are taxing for us, but not too many.
One makes accomodations. I guess it depends on how much stress & cat poop one can handle.

8. Kitty update
When my son finally got up, it turns out that he found the kitty wandering around in the middle of the road out in the country. Poor thing, it was 2° last night. Time to go beat on doors to find out if anyone is missing her, but I'm getting the nasty feeling she was dumped.

10. Good luck, spinbaby.
If she doesn't have a home, maybe you can find a no-kill shelter in your area.
