OK, the Cat fun's over.

We really tried to cut you cat freaks some slack, and permit occasional discussion of topics of a feline nature, provided they don't go too far.

It's clear that this has become some kind of kitty cat obsession for some of you: See how far you can push the dog lovers and cat haters before you get your threads stacked up like cord wood.

Well, you cat crazies have pushed the envelope too far. You're thumbing your nose at the ferret owners, lizard owners, puppy owners and giraffe owners, and wasting their time. Game over.

Here's the new rule: No CAT threads, period.

I am instructing the moderators to delete all CAT threads. Not lock, delete. Anyone who feels like posting another ridiculous kitten photo or hourly report of some cute thing your cat just did, will have to accept the consequences of their actions.

I'm sorry if you're disappointed by this turn of events. Blame the small number of cat zombies who can't control themselves and have spoiled it for all other pet owners, or someone who'd like to read about something OTHER than your stupid cats.

I am one and am posting on behalf of my owner, who has finally gone to bed. I've observed much, over the years, perched on this desk, by the computer, learned her log-in, read DU, decided that I was a liberal, like my person, and that I could support John Kerry, since Kucinich, my first choice, seemed unlikely to receive the nomination. Again, what is your problem with us cats?:shrug:

There is much less prejudice there and without either mewing or cuteness (well, most of us can't avoid the latter). I would suggest that all posters who want to discuss us, or our ilk, post there, unless it's about serious politics, which many of us cats are sincerely concerned about. We saw either Dennis Kucinich, as a vegan, or John Kerry, as the hamsters' candidate, to be the best choice, but we support anyone who supports animal protection legislation. My time on the computer is drawing to a close, but remember that we are out here and that we are watching.
