Please explain this to me.

I know there are ignore and buddy lists. I've read the FAQ on both and don't understand the dynamics.

1) Does someone know if they are on one of your lists?

2) What happens to the ignored poster's posts when you are reading a thread? Do they mysteriously not appear, disrupting the flow of the conversation?

3) Does a buddy list alert you to theri posts, or what?

Please elucidate. At great length.

2.) Their post shows up as 'ignored'.

but i believe if someone is one you ignore list, when they post, you just see a blank box that says ignored.

You do not get an alert when someone on your buddy list posts. It's just an easier way to send them PMs.
