1. It is very good, but, like many cult films, a bit over-rated.

6. Hard question.
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:27 PM by tjdee
It's basically three different stories:

1-John Travolta and Sam Jackson go to do a hit for their mob boss (basically it's the whole morning of that day).

2-Bruce Willis is a fighter who is asked to throw a fight by same mob boss.

3-John Travolta goes out with the mob boss' wife (Uma who looks great as a brunette).

7. Just see it
Any attempt to explain it won't do it justice. The less you know going in, the better. I will tell you that it's essentially about two hit men and the situations they find themselves in, but it's done in a way that's incredibly unique.

Also, it is very violent, so you have been warned if that bothers you.

8. To complicated for a quick synopsis.
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:28 PM by DrWeird
It's roughly four or five seperate vignettes about professional criminals. Their stories are intertwined and end up coming together in unexpected ways.

The story is not told in a linear fashion.

9. It's about this:
"If a pig had a better personality, it would cease to be a disgusting animal."

That's basically what the film does, beginning to end. Show you pigs with a ton of personality.

"It'd have to be one charming mother fuckin' pig. I mean, way more charming than that Arnold on Green Acres."

3. So many films have ripped it off that it's not as cool as when it came out
BUT

it is a great film.

Sam Jackson deserved the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, sorry (I think it was the year Spacey won for... Usual Suspects?).

4. If you like fantastic scripts and great music I suppose it could be "good"
But then again you might think Gigli was the best film ever made.

12. QT always has GREAT music.
I'm always so, so pleased with his use of music.

Thought of that when I saw what Zach Braff did in Garden State.

I can't believe you think I'm that low. I am clearly sub-human to you.

5. One of the best films ever put to celluloid. But I'm a bit biased...
I lost my virginity to that movie.

But seriously, it's an incredibly good film, and if you're a fan of cinema you have to see it.

11. Tarantino's best film, IMO
All his other films pale in comparison. Very violent though. Reservoir Dogs was like the dress rehearsal.
