2. Who are these idjuts that go "I wish it would snow"?
I don't get it.

It's not fun to shovel it, drive in it.... it's only fun if you're 10 and get a snow day.

It hasn't even snowed here worth much and I feel your pain.

5. Well, okay, schoolkids :)
I'm all for wanting a snow day, and I used to pray for them, LOL.

But now it's such a drag because now I have to work out "gee, should I try to drive to work?" and "Is the kid off, cause then I have to call out from work?".

Basically, it's having the JOB that's the problem, not the snow!
A revelation!
:silly:

4. Alas. It's winter.
And you live in the Midwest.

So do I (Kansas) but we've been spared serious winter crap for a decade now.

As a child in northern New York State, my mother used to look at snow falling and grumble, "Damn stupid stuff."

When she decided to leave my father (he was an alcoholic and it was the best thing she could have done for us kids) she moved us to Tucson, Arizona specifically to get away from the snow. She loved it there, lived there for 37 years, happy to be away from the damn stupid stuff.

Me, I love winter, love snow, even though as an adult I have to deal with it and drive in it.

But I do sympathize with someone who's tired of it.

9. Phoenix to Tucson...We loooove our weather...
we drive 2/3 hours up to the mountains, play in the snow and leave the stuff there. No need to shovel snow..maybe wearing your shorts.

15. Personally, having lived
in both Phoenix and Tucson, I'm not fond of either place. The heat is worse for me, but to each her own!

11. I got chilled tonight on the way home...
ZERO fuckin' DEGREES this AM, then it was 18 on the way home (woo-fucking-hoo! Heat Wave!) and I had to stop for gas, and by the time I got home I was shivering, even though I could have thrown Bauxite down my defrosters and had shiny new beer cans roll out onto the floorboards.

And because of our wonderful Bush Economic MIRACLE(tm), I keep the heat turned down to 55 in the daytime when I'm not here, so I'm dancing around for 15 minutes with my coat on in my kitchen waiting for the apartment to warm up enough so I could take my gloves off and cook dinner...

I fucking HATE cold weather! What the hell use is it besides an Eskimo aphrodisiac?

12. Cold keeps your meat from spoiling.

I'm sorry--I had to do it... Somebody had to say it and I figured it might as well be me.

I just HATE this time of year in the Midwest. I freeze my nubbins off for three months and drive on crap roads. Know what that gets me? I get to live in humidity and heat all summer long. EVERY year in January I begin to wonder why I'm still in Illinois after all this time.
