If they're going to phish... |

The nasty little rat bastards may as well use spell / grammar check! This one is typical of the ones that I get....
Dear eBay user ,
As stated in the User Agreement, Section 41.1, we may send you this email.
We regret to inform you that your eBay account can be suspended if you do not solve your problems and you do not co-operate. After the multiple frauds registered lately, our company has initiated a study regarding this problem. In this study the company has reached the conclusion that most of the frauds were possible because of the low email service security level .
For a best deployment of our further activities (the frauds prevention) our company has decided to test for free the security of the email services that you (our users) use.
Hoping you have understood that we are doing all these for your own safety and for the good deployment of the relations between our company and its parteners we suggest you to acces the following form to test your e-mail .
Verify your identity.

1. And you are opposed to the good deployment of their parteners? |
|
I got my anniversary renewal e-mail from my ISP last week (SBC). It was legit, but because of the phishing thing, I NEVER take action on ANY account / membership e-mails by responding. I call the originator, ask if it's legit, and handle it over the phone.
YOU were lucky. YOU were approached by an effing IDIOT.

3. I do a lot on ebay.... |
|
So I get these all of the time - apparently my email address must be out there for them to get. I'm with you, though. I NEVER click on anything in these emails...
Judging by the number of them around though, it must be a big business.

out there that will send info in. I wonder if King * got this in his box at the Palace in Washington. He's probably dumb enough to send info in.

6. You know the scary thing about phishing and spam? |
|
Some people fall for it.
Who buys anything from a spam email? Who responds to a phish? But some people must, or it wouldn't be worth it. I't like to meet those people and give them a talking-to.
