I have an odd feeling of doom... |
|
For the past week or so, I have felt as if time is slowing down and that something bad is going to happen. I have had these psychic and intuitive feelings before. Before something happens, I just get the feeling that time is slowing down...things are almost in slow-motion. This happened before 9/11 and before several personal tragedies.
It isn't the fact that we are going to have four more years of Rodent and Turd. I accepted that. I just feel that there is Doom ahead. I can't even explain it, but I hate feeling like this. I have never been wrong with this kind of feeling. It almost feels like electricity encircling my body. I can't stop shaking.
My dreams have also been really violent. This never happens.
I am just really nervous.

Check out this thread in LBN. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=1162814&mesg_id=1162814 Others are having the same feeling. I have to admit I have been feeling kind of out of step lately. Can't put my finger on it, but something just doesn't feel right.

The feeling started about 5 days ago. I've been having dreams that are reminiscent of the post 9/11 situation. (Meaning the sadness, the feelings of shocks etc)
I'm not sure that something catastrophic is going to happen- in fact, I'd think probably not. But there IS a "disturbance in the force".
I dont walk around gloom and doom though. It's not like being depressed or on edge. Just a certain uneasiness at times.

If nothing serious happens, then you can refer to this thread to make you feel better next time this happens.
It's easy to trigger feelings of doom at times like this; But remember, the fundies have been predicting "doom" for milllenia with a 100% failure rate.

7. not as intense as you're describing, but |
|
I've had a nervous feeling lately and I don't remember ever feeling like this before. No shaking or bad dreams, but a nagging, "oh no, what's gonna happen?" feeling.
I've had myself convinced it's just dread over the inauguration cementing THAT doom... but now...
:scared: geez.

8. Glad to know I'm not alone on this |
|
I've had this vague, fuzzy "OFF" feeling since last Thursday, and it's nothing I can place. My dreams have been vivid & disturbing.
I don't know what it is, except to say it's a sense of forboding. The last time I had it, I was in a car accident. When I lived in Asia, I almost always knew when a sizeable earthquake was coming. (Not devastating, but large enough to feel it.) This was the kind of feeling I got.
I'm in the process of seeing a specialist about an issue I'm having with my stomach, so I've been shrugging the feelings off as tension over the diagnosis. Since it appears to be that I'm not alone, I'm almost relieved that it may not be that, yet terrified of what it could be.

9. take that out of the law |
|
No, I'm serious. It might sound all New Age and 80s but whenever I get those feelings, I follow the prescription to say loudly (if only LOUDLY in my brain) I take that out of the law.
My life has improved immeasurably since I have refused to sit down and accept fate/destiny/God's plan whatever you want to call it.
I have a better plan.
My plan is to have a good life and be happy.
When the feeling of doom comes, take that out of the law or out of the Book depending on how you visualize and what your philosophy is.
Don't take negativity sitting down. The gods don't get to decide everything. We are here for a purpose and it is not just to be a puppet playing a part. They could have just run some computer sims if that's all they wanted. What? You think the gods couldn't have thought of computers. Come on. Expand your imagination. We can refuse to take doom laying down. Maybe we can't dodge every bullet but we can dodge some of them. We can put up a good fight.
I am by far from the most talented "reality adjuster" but I will send you my best wishes for what it is worth.
The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists and other subversives. We intend to clean them out, even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country. --John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-72
