I'd get a brand-new corvette, followed by at 70's 'vette. Wouldnt mind a nice dodge viper either.
though, i would LOVE to have my 1991 subaru Legacy back!

you have your choice of any car ever made. What do you pick?

11. It was actually a forerunner of the more modern Firebird, or the TransAm
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 02:24 AM by LibInTexas
Way ahead of it's day.
Turbine engine with a joy-stick that controlled the direction.
Plus, computer controlled "ride the road" technology that would allow the driver to release the "grip" and let the car drive by itself. 1958!

Pretty Jetson's, but I still like the overall design.

edit to note the white-walled tires, so popular back then.

Why? Because I randomly opened a page in my "Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975" and that's what I opened to. It probably gets even less miles per gallon than your average Hummer or Excursion!

Olds rocks!

87. i once had a 72-73 olds 88/98....
i bought a 73 olds 98 from a woman who parked it in the garage after having a fender-bender in it on her first drive in it after her husband's death. she was scared to drive it, and there it sat for 12+ years, until i bought it(in 1982, for $400, with only 18,000 miles on it.
I went to several junkyards looking for a new hood and front right quarter panel...what i found was a 72 delta 88 that had the same frontend bolt pattern as the '73 98. For $125, i got the entire front end, including bumper from the delta 88.
the 98 was metallic blue, and the delta 88 was yellow, and two days later i had replaced the whole front end, and had me a mighty sweet ride at a low low cost.

16. I want a Toyota Sienna with the hybrid engine, 8 pass and AWD options
It's not quite out in hybrid yet, but I'd happily go on the waiting list. :) For that matter, I have no idea if one can get the 8 passenger and AWD options with the hybrid, Toyota is wierd when it comes to option packages.

Nobody make fun of my practical tastes, please. I need a sporty two seater or a gas guzzling muscle car about as much as a snake needs pantyhose. I'd rather get a car that's safe and reliable and has room enough for a family and all our crap even if we wind up having another kid or two.

37. I SAW that one on a flatbed, being towed through Studio City, CA..
But the really weird thing was, that when we saw it, we had just noticed Ozzie Osborne and some people sitting in a table by the window of the restaurant we were in, and right then the Batmobile went by behind him. This was not that many years after Ozzie had made headlines for biting the head off a bat on stage.

29. A new version of my current one.. Accord EX
Mine is a 91, and if I could afford it, I would buy another NEW one..

I have only ever had TWO new cars in my whole life.. a 1973 Ford Maverick (we sold our 1968 GTO, and traded in a 1964 Falcon covertible to buy it :eyes:)..

Our oldest son has never forgiven us for that faux pas.. The Maverick was HIS first car.. We bought it when I was 3 months pregnant with him, so his first car was one he rode in before he was even born :) He did love that little car though,.. It finally "died" 2 years ago..

and a 1979 Chevy station wagon ( a L E M O N )... so we have always bought "gently used" ones after that,.,Maintain them.. drive them until they cost too much to fix, and then get another one :) We HATE HATE HATE car payments

42. Drool-worthy car or practical car?
My drool-worthy car is the Porsche Carrera GT:

Half a million dollar price tag, V10 engine, the very highest automotive technology one can put his hands on. 'Course, then I'd have to enter it in the One Lap of America.

My practical car is the Honda Accord Hybrid Sedan. No picture because you've all seen it: it looks exactly like a Honda Accord Sedan. Which is good.

103. Well, hopefully I WILL be able to afford it at some point soon.
A good friend of mine is a GM at a Honda dealership, so he could possibly hook me up if/when the time comes.

I want it partly because it's a hybrid, but I also think the 2004 Accord Coupe IS "spiffy", and the inside is snazzy too. Again, I admit, that is sad. I don't really desire anything "showy", just nice, I guess.

Twin-turbo 850HP 2.7L straight-6, 0-60 in 3 seconds (if you're really, REALLY good at shifting), and a top speed of just over 210mph. It's also 4WD, so it's great in the turns for a front engine car.

Red with white racing stripes. Alternatively, I'd take a white one with the Irish flag painted on the top.

I like the idea of not having to pump gas all the time (I currently drive a gas guzzling SUV that was sort of a hand me down).

That's only if I don't have to pay for the maintenance, though. If I do, then I have to take my longings down a notch.

Should run about $80,000.

For sheer gut clenching speed, give me a 1952 Allard J2X, the one that comes with a Cadillac twelve cylinder engine.
