The little cat my son picked up on a snow-covered road in the middle of the night turned out, upon investigation, to be an indoor cat that had slipped out. She's back home now and we, thank goodness, don't have one more cat in the house.

I'm sure that it gave you a great feeling to reunite a family and that this kitty is grateful to be home. Most cats don't take kindly to new environments, especially abandonment, as my cat had to suffer, before I managed to bring her in. Thank you, from both of us. I hope that both of your own kitties are doing well.
