1. One snowstorm here in Seattle, I saw a guy with a cart full of bread
I swear, he had like 14 loaves in there or something. :wtf: I love snow panic here - updates on the news every five minutes, and each storm has its own name and graphic (this year's dusting was named "Deep Freeze"). :D

6. yeah but it rarely snows there right?
my college roommate ( she's from Pittsburgh like me) has lived in Seattle for more than 20 years and I still remember her telling me how scary it was to be stuck on one of those floating bridges for hours... since people there really don't know from snow.

10. No, it doesn't really snow that much
Just enough to get everyone completely freaked out, and you're right, absolutely no one knows how to drive in the snow, including yours truly. :D

14. Schools And Businesses Are Letting Out Early... And Making Traffic WORSE
before the road crews have a chance to apply salt, sand, and sno-melt chemicals.

If they hadn't panicked and just finished the day normally, then the road crews could have treated the roads, and there would be FEWER accidents right now.

Idiots. THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING!! Snow! Run for your lives!!

18. The main roads are cleared by now
But, when I was out - around noon, in the West End of Alexandria - it was a riot. All these SUV drivers spinning around and thumping into each other. I gave a police car a push up a bit of a hill on Edsall Road - it was slick under the snow.

But, I think it'll be all right for your drive home. Be careful. Watch out for the morons who don't slow down for conditions.

12. Took me two and a half hours to get to work
Normally a half-hour commute. Nothing moved, wreck on the interstate. You'd think they'd never seen snow in Pittsburgh before.

13. 45 minutes to take the boy to school
and we live just outside the city. It seemed like the city couldn't keep up with the snow... the roads were really yucky and "slippy." I expected more salt! I think it was from all those days of 60 degree weather the last few weeks.

8. Har har!
I remember when Atlanta had TWO whole inches of snow the whole city shut down for days. The evening news showed some wretched guy trying to scrape his windshield with a bacon spatula!

Priceless!

16. I drove to DC during a massive snow storm back in '92 or '93.
It closed down the entire coast as no one knew how to deal with the snow and ice. The city was throwing down sand or something to try and clear the roads. Of course it didn't help at all. My co worker and I got wanted to see the sights as we had never been there so we went out in it and had a good time since there was no one else around to get in our way. :)

But then, we're from Michigan so a little snow storm won't keep us down for too long.

20. This really sucks.
It took me two hours to get from Upper Marlboro back to Columbia. I95 (which I didn't take) is backed up from the DC beltway all the way to baltimore.
