I know what your daughter means though. When I get away from DU (not very often) and read a silly joke, or watch a silly show, I am surprised at how happy I feel. I need to come here so I don't go insane--for the times I slip up and see a newspaper, or inadvertently watch a news item--but I do need an occasional dose of endorphins. Silly Lounge threads are good, too, for helping you release that caps lock. Hang in there, Bull! :)
