I thawt I saw Bob Dylan
(that's the Tweety Bird spelling)

I come out of my apartment building on to the sidewalk. A guy is walking toward me, dressed unusually but this is New York. Eccentric clothes, ankle length coat with a fur collar, big white wide brimmed hat. The hat tilts up a little and... dang! The eyes, the mouth, the curly hair and I was like a deer in headlights.

I couldn't give a Cheney about most celebrities but this seemed to be Bob Dylan. The freakin legend! I went to school with kids who were named after him. Dylan, the freakin poet laureate of a generation. Dylan, the guy that single handedly put folk music on the pop charts. How much did I want to take him to breakfast and talk about New York, the way it used to be or whatever the hell Bob Dylan thinks about when he is walking through the old neighborhood. (His recording career started in an office/studio on West 70th btw). Off he walked.

I only now remembered to Google for a recent Dylan pic and now I am even more sure it was him (~80%). Anybody know where Dylan was on 12/27/2004 or how I could find out?

2. Wow! His Bobness in person!
Apparently, he's the sort of guy who would just walk around like that.

"The pump don't work because the vandals stole the handle" is particularly appropriate right now.

regards

McKenzie

6. That's NY for ya
Michael Moore lives in the building next door to me. Bill Cosby used to live next door too. Steven Baldwin and Michael Moore eat at the diner around the corner. Saw Donald Sutherland, Jon Bon Jovi and Seth Green. I love the way that people leave celebs alone (although Moore has a bodyguard all the time, sometimes more than one) and they probably like it too. Sutherland was blocking the sidewalk and people told him to move.

3. I know what you mean
There aren't many people that I am in awe to see, but Bob Dylan was one. I was standing within 2 feet of him and it was just plain weird. I don't get that way for hardly anyone.

4. There is this presence that he has
Just found this pic (bottom of this webpage):

And that is the coat. He had a walking stick too.

I was given "Chronicles" for Christmas by my father and had been reading it when this happened. Too weird in its own way.

5. Ok, how tall would you say that man was?
My mom's met His Bobness more than once and he's not very tall, 5'6" or 5'7".
