Who are the Biggest Poseurs in Music Today?
Poseur: a person who pretends to be what he or she is not : an affected or insincere person

I have two nominees:

Kid Rock - For being a rich kid from suburban Detroit impersonating a blue collar southern rocker/rapper with street cred.

Limp Bizkit - For being a bunch of rap-rocking Korn wannabees

Who else?

24. I can't stand it
top 40 radio blows. :puke:

the only station I can listen to is Q104.3, the "classic rock" station, and unfortunetly, since its the only bearable station, it gets a bit repetative sometimes

16. Radiohead is not a group of poseurs, nor do they suck!
I know that they are darlings of music critics but they are (in my opinion) a very talented and innovative band.

44. Radiohead is my favorite :(
They don't sound like anyone else out there... Pablo Honey and The Bends aren't too awesome, but Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief? Awesome.

:loveya: Radiohead- Hail to the Thief

12. They don't have to pretend
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 04:35 PM by mvd
They are cool. :-)

There are some on top 40 that deserve their success. However, Ashlee Simpson, Hilary Duff, Diana DeGarmo and Jesse McCartney are made to be teen idols but NOT worthy.

Keane sounds a lot like a Coldplay immitation sometimes. But I will check him out.

I'll leave things in this topic at that.

No offense to Mr. Combs as a businessman, which he has done a good job at, but his 'rap' is a joke.

Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 05:36 PM by jmm
With lyrics like that you can't tell me some heavenly muse isn't inspiring Diddy's "rap" }(

I can't settle on one biggest poser so I'll vote for any rapper who needs a female singing the hook and an expensive choreographed video to get a hit but still brags about being a thug. OK maybe I can settle on one- Ja Rule.

added on edit
Honorable mentions goes to Chingy who claims he's more "gansta" than 50 cent.

36. Ja Rule is about as thug as a newborn kitten
I loved how he was talking trash to 50 Cent (I used to like him too, before he went too mainstream), but would probably tuck his tail and run if 50 ever came after him.
