did I mention I LOVE TIVO |
|
Got it shortly after the holidays - my son installed it for me. A whole new world! Now see Nightline in the AM with my coffee when CSpan disappoints. It has busily recorded all sorts of old movies and BBCAmerica shows in the dead of night for my enjoyment. It is a wonder and I wonder why I didn't get it before... maybe because I was waiting to see if my son would buy it for me.... which he did.
Wonderful son - wonderful TIVO.

Is that the one that records without commercials? If this is a stupid question, forgive me!
I depend on my sons for most of this stuff too!

8. It records TV as it is broadcasted on your screen. SO if you missed |
|
something, you can just back it up on the TIVO and re-watch it. If you leave, you can pause the TIVO, and it keeps recording, then you sit down and watch the parts you missed.
you can also set it to record whatever you want, whenever you want, without commercials. You can set it to record a show at 3:00 every thursday, and it will, and it just stays stored indefinetely until you get tiem to watch it and catch up. You literally never miss a show.
I don't have one because I don't watch enough TV, but if I was an addict of a show, I could see how it would be a great thing to have!

10. Tivo automatically records to its hard disc as you are watching live TV |
|
for 30 minutes. So, if you are watching something currently being broadcast and the phone rings, you can PAUSE the show, take the call, then RESUME watching right where you stopped.
Or, if someone says something to you and you miss what someone said on TV, you can rewind it back to that point where you missed what was said. and listen to it again. This is because you have 30 minutes automatically banked up of what you've been watching.

5. You still have the commercials, but it's easy to fast forward |
|
through them. I LOVE being ablr to do that! I wish they made a TiVO for the radio. :-)

6. On mine you have to zap thru them |
|
Maybe I can figure out how to do it without them, but that may have been on earlier models.
This one has the capability to transfer stuff to your computer, but I don't think I will ever want or need that. (Plus, not on broadband)
I cannot believe how great this is - my son kept telling me "It will change your life" - but I couldn't really understand how until I got it.
