Quaint Hobbies and Collections?
I used to collect stamps many years ago, and although I quit, I still pay attention to new releases and keep considering taking it up again. There are still many great designs on them. I can't resist buying sheets of great authors or artists. It is nice they get recognized somehow.

I do not collect coins, except for the state quarters (yes, I have the color-coded map sorted by release date). I have a penchant for quaint and somewhat corny hobbies and collectibles. NO figurines, however.

How about you? :-)

1. Pocket watches and...
smoking paraphenalia. I have a small collection of funky old table lighters..... two airplanes (spin the propeller and flame comes out of the cockpit), a lamp (pull a chain and flame comes out the top of the shade), a camera on a tripod(has old style flash cord- press it an flame comes out the top) and then some more normal art deco-y lighters and cig boxes.

3. I do have some old coins, but it's been a while snce I *collected*--
now it's more like I "carry around and have as a part of my caravan of things." I have some old jewelry, and that's been my most recent thing--I do beading, and string stuff like antique Chinese pendants with jade beads, ancient cylinder seals with old stone beads...stuff like that. I've got a lot of jewelry too funky to really wear out, much. I like the look of costume-y old stuff, though. It's like, by putting on a piece from another era, you kind of take on part of that essence.

5. Cows.
I collect all things bovine. Figurines, kitchenware, posters, cow-print items, etc. I don't really buy them any more: I have so many that lots are in storage. But of course people still give them to me as gifts.

6. Teapots. I love them because they are symbolic of a gentler age.
I have about 30 and my daughters and I have teaparties using them.
