Protest Sign picture...taken in Dublin, March 2003

Noticed this while sitting in a cafe eating breakfast. It was on the other side of the river Liffey. While on my "Irish adventure," I also realized that there wasn't much graffiti there, but the graffitti I did see was mostly about Bush being evil/bad/whatever.

I really liked Dublin.

1. That really says it all, I guess.
I tremble for my country when I realize that God is just.

2. I lived in Dublin 18 months and loved it.
That's the Ha'Penny Bridge, which leads right into the Temple Bar area.

3. Yeah, I was staying in a hostel in Temple Bar
I was the only American that I could tell. It was mostly Germans & French. The Germans stuck to themselves. The French were nice to me. I had a Ninja Turtles t-shirt. Apparently, the turtles are popular there. There were also some Kosovoans, who told me that they were thankful that Clinton saved their lives. People were pretty free about telling me that they generally liked Americans, liked Clinton & really hated Bush. I had to agree.

4. I was there when Clinton gave a speech
Mobs of Irish people swarmed the streets to listen to him. They loved Clinton!

5. The "sniffy Liffey," eh?
We spent a day there when on a tour of Britain and Ireland in 2001. We loved it, too, and wanted to spend more time there, but had to leave. Hope to go back to that region after the bar exam this summer.

6. I had a great time.
Went solo for 10 days with no plans at all. No idea of where I was staying, going, etc. All I knew was that I was flying into Dublin & flying out of Shannon. I'm slightly amused by the fact that my mother gets more concerned with me going to NYC for the day than she does with me traveling alone in a foreign country with no plans as a young woman.

I fit in well. Tourists asked me for directions all the time and were shocked when they realized I was an American. The same thing happened in London. People here often tell me that I look like I am Irish, not just an Irish-American.
