the fiery furnaces - anyone ever hear them?

i just got their cd on recommendation, and im doing my best to get into them...but alot of their stuff just seems like pretentious crap...some of it i dig, but then they try to do some time changes and what not that just don't seem to work...and the lyrics are god awful

anyone have any insight into them? maybe i can learn to like them, i haven't quite heard the whole album yet. so theres still time
