Quick Picker Uppers
All day I've been thinking about Dante's Inferno and the line "Abandon hope all who enter here."

So I've been trying to concentrate on some of the good things left in life.

Here's a few in no particular order feel free to add your own within the boards guidelines of course.

Julian Mcmahon, family, friends, puppies, kittens, flowers, mother nature in general, chocolate, televison, books, DVD's, writing, great food, coffee, tea, Coca Cola, Aussie men, British men, some American men, movies, music, anti-depressants, learning, art, New England, sunshine, laughter, humor, comedy, cozy blankets, sleep and sweet dreams.

3. Hiking in Yosemite,
walking over the golden gate bridge, making out in the back seat of a car (youthful fun!), finishing off a good fast break in basketball.

8. I once walked over the Golden Gate bridge.
It was quite an experience. I'd love to go back to San Francisco one day.

7. Mystery Novels
Right now I am into mystery/romance novels. Particularly Nora Roberts Eve Dallas-In Death series under the pen name J.D. Robb. Not particularly deep but they take me away from reality for ahwile.

I also am halfway through "Man's Search For Meaning" by Victor Frankl but I had to take it back to avoid an over due fee, but I plan on renewing it again when I get the chance.

10. I love easy-read mysteries.
Right now, I'm reading "Weep No More My Lady" by Mary Higgins Clark. It's not the thrill ride some of her other books have been (there were some I couldn't put down and had to read all the way through), but it's good escapism.

12. Mary Higgins Clark
I love the majority of her books as well. Have read some of her daughter's too. They are pretty good but not as exciting as most of her Mom's.

5. Likeminded people who understand me on this board and others.
A husband who thinks I'm the most wonderful woman ever.

Wonderful, exuberant, inquisitive kids who give me a run for my money every day.

Loving parents who brought me up in a happy home and taught me the important things in life - parents who, by the way, are Democrats

Siblings and siblings-in-law I genuinely love and enjoy spending time with. Family get togethers are a joy, not a burden

Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Toffee Nut Lattes

A pantry and refrigerator full of good food, and the good fortune to be able to share with others

Three pounds of Caribou coffee in that same pantry

A fire in the fireplace, a warm quilt made by my mother, and a good book

Crossword puzzles

John Mellencamp

Jeans that fit AND feel good

Health and strength to be able to push myself physically

The faculties and drive to be able to push myself mentally

Vintage cookbooks full of wonderful comfort recipes

The Twilight Zone

A decent home on a quiet street

The first fresh air of spring, when it's finally warm enough to wear just shirt sleeves and the ground smells faintly of mud and grass

Road trips

Tiny doughnuts and Pronto Pups at the Minnesota State Fair

Soft carpet

Hope

15. I second your list of men
Add in French music c.1850-present, it really does kick-ass. Also pisses off the whole 'freedom-fries' types.
