3. That was my first reaction, too.
Except it had more syllables.

"Daaaaa-yuummmmmm. That's a big baby."

4. my dear, I can only imagine what the mother must look like.
Something is very wrong here. How was this allowed to happen.

5. Are you thinking the mom is overly large?
I'm not sure I'd make that assumption. Tiny women have given birth to large babies as well.

Not 16.7 lb ones, but still.

11. My brother was 12 pounds when he was born...naturally...to my mother
a size 6 at the time. You just never know what nature is going to give you.

7. Not necessarily
He is huge now. But large babies do not necessarily mean large adults. He may not even be overly tall.

12. Yeah,
In the other direction I was just a shade over five pounds when I was born and I'm now 6'4" and a bit more than 230! A friend of mine who weighs about 105 lbs soaking wet has had several children--all over ten pounds at birth. The eldest daughter is now a bit past four and is, if anything small for her age group. Babies can either do a ton of growing--or not.

But let's say it again: DAAAAAAAAYYYY-UUUUMMMMM that's a big baby!

9. Dammit...
beat my birth wieght by 4 pounds and 7 ounces. That sucks, I do hope it was a C-Section though, that would be tough on the mom.
