I'm not sure I'd make that assumption. Tiny women have given birth to large babies as well.
Not 16.7 lb ones, but still.

He is huge now. But large babies do not necessarily mean large adults. He may not even be overly tall.

In the other direction I was just a shade over five pounds when I was born and I'm now 6'4" and a bit more than 230! A friend of mine who weighs about 105 lbs soaking wet has had several children--all over ten pounds at birth. The eldest daughter is now a bit past four and is, if anything small for her age group. Babies can either do a ton of growing--or not.
But let's say it again: DAAAAAAAAYYYY-UUUUMMMMM that's a big baby!

beat my birth wieght by 4 pounds and 7 ounces. That sucks, I do hope it was a C-Section though, that would be tough on the mom.
