Bloggin' to myself and feelin' old
(With apologies to Paul Williams, Roger Nichols, and The Carpenters)

Bloggin’ to myself and feelin’ old
Sometimes I’d like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin’ around
Nothing to do but frown
Bush Inaugurations always get me down.

What I’ve got they used to call the blues
Nothin’ is really wrong
Feelin’ like I don’t belong
Walkin’ around
Some kind of lonely clown
Bush Inaugurations always get me down.

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me.

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it’s all about
Hangin’ around
Nothing to do but frown
Bush Inaugurations always get me down.

1. Bravo
That's a great old song and a great new take on it.

2. Thanks... I just posted it on my blog
-minus the "wind up here with you" because, well, that would be odd, wouldn't it? I mean, it's my blog, so wind up here with... er, me?

Just me, myself and I, hanging out...

'nother question, if talking to yourself - at least past a reasonable amount - is a bad thing, is blogging to yourself a bad thing too? Just wonderin'

3. That song ...

is one of my all-time favorites! I love Paul Williams ... and I love what you've done with the lyrics. It's amazing ... all you had to do was change a couple of words ... and the rest of the song fits perfectly, LOL! :D

4. What's weird is...

I have not thought of that song in, literally, years (since I packed away my old albums, I think) - but it was running around my head ALL DAY LONG today. But I didn't get the "connection" until just before I posted!

But, BOY, does it fit the way I feel. Yeah, I'll get back my fighting spirit tomorrow, but today, I just feel old, unloved, and depressed. My country isn't my country, and I just want to cry.

Hmmm. Brings another song to mind

It's not my party and I'll cry if I want to...
