IV is where they did Stairway to Heaven. Houses of the Holy was the next album, however there was a song called Houses of the Holy, which was on Physical Graffiti, which was their 6th album.

4. "Who's Next" was a groundbreaking album......... |
|
The production on that album is amazing, along with Townsend's use of synthesizers.

I suspect many people here have been so burnt out by stairway to heaven that they automatically voted for who's next. Won't get fooled again is a brilliant song that's timeless.

Led Zeppelin IV - because they are the only hard rockin blues band worthy of having their music in a time capsule. The album still rocks, it's timeless.
LZ :yourock:
BTW: Sonic wise, The Who's album was before its time.

But then, just about anything this side of "Paper Lace" or "Captain and Tenielle" is better than anything by Lead Zeppelin....

Never insult Led Zeppelin. Not in front of me. I have all their albums. If you cannot appreciate the fire in their recordings, then you don't have a soul.

They have been a plague on the air-waves since their coinception, consuming time much better spent with the likes of the Doors, the Velvet Underground, the Stooges, Violent Femmes, the Call, Cake, the Pixies, and a host of others....

I'd take Side One of IV and Side Two of Who's Next, but then I'd miss "The Song Is Over" and "Going to California" too much. May go with IV just 'cause I've listened to it more; that should count for something...

12. As much as I love Zepplin, Who's Next was a classic. |
|
And in my top 5 of all time.

Not only is it the Who's best studio album, but I'm so sick of Stairway to Heaven I had to vote against it.
Bonzo & Moon - two drummers who we will never see the likes of again :(
