I think I'm losing it!
Granted, we had a loss in the family a month ago, but I don't think that's what is causing my sudden bursts of emotion in otherwise hostile territory. I find myself feeling very confrontational, especially with store people who I suspect voted Republican.

At the CVS, the debit machine wouldn't take my secret i.d. number, saying it was the wrong number. I tried three times and finally the store guy, who was watching me from the other side the entire time said, "It's stating it's the wrong code, so you'll need to try another card." I got hostile and said, "No, it's the right code. Is this machine made by Diebold? I understand we lost an entire election over these things, I want to understand why it's not taking my code." Then he says, like he knew all along, "You're not suppose to use your fingers, you're suppose to use the stylus." Card went through without any trouble using that inside information. Through it all, the guy acted detached & unresponsive.

Then, when I went to get passport photos, I went into one of those small Mailbox places (All the ones around here look like they're run by the same redneck Southern Baptists. In the one I went into, there was even one guy playing redneck music!) Anyway, the passport photo came out terrible. I didn't smile, though smiling when you really feel lousy is the hardest thing to do. I told the guy I would pay for another set of photos and his response was, "What do you care? Only foreigners are going to see it." And I replied, "I have to get back into the country and I keep getting profiled because I look like a Muslim." And he responded, "That's harsh!" And I replied, "It's also wrong to profile people." He tried to be nice about it and said, "Well, will you give me a smile this time?" And I said, resigned, "Give me something to smile about."

I came home without finishing the rest of my morning chores.

Is it just me, or does it feel like half of this country is walking around in a deep funk? While the other half is walking around cautiously watching because they know they're going to get slapped in the face when it becomes mainstream news that this election was a fraud?

2. Thanks. But I think what I need is a media enema.
